General information

The Central Okanagan Emergency Shelter Society (Kelowna Women's Shelter) values the basic human right to freedom from physical, emotional and sexual abuse and provides: sanctuary, advocacy, support and self development opportunities for women and children during and after crisis.

All Shelter services are free, safe and confidential.

Our Programs and Services include:

- Transition House Program/Shelter (short-term)
- WISH - 2nd Stage Home (long-term)
- Children Who Witness Abuse Program
- Inside/Out Violence Prevention Program for children and teens in the community
- Outreach Program - supportive counselling and advocacy services for women
- Support and Life Skills Groups
- Childcare for Shelter clients
- Client transportation and accompaniment to appointments and court
- Volunteers, Community Awareness and Events Program
- Crisis Phone Line - fully staffed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week at (250) 763-1040

The Kelowna Women's Shelter owns and operates the KWS Thrift Store at #6- 368 Industrial Avenue. Our clients receive needed items free of charge, and funds raised go to support our programs.
