Located in Calgary, Alberta - Cano Coatings Inc. has been producing architectural and industrial coatings since 2001. Our products are designed in-house with our experienced technical staff and chemists using high quality chemicals to maximize the life and durability of our products while minimizing environmental impact.

Fire Rated Sheathing

Cano Coatings also manufactures PKboard which is a 3/8" thick structural rated sheathing that is protected on one side with PinkShield. Since 2011 builders in Alberta have used PKboard to meet the requirements of section 5.6.1.2 of the 2010 Canadian National Fire Code.

Many cities and municipalities are now adopting this code requirement including Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Saskatoon. The cities and municipalities are aiming to reduce fires on new home construction and provide more time to first responders. Pkboard has a flame spread rating under 25 (CAN/ULC S102) and also acts as a 15 minute thermal barrier (CAN/ULC S102 small scale).

We also can custom coat your dimensional lumber with PinkShield (as seen on Holmes Makes it Right). This process involves coating all sides of the lumber with a thin layer of PinkShield which will delay the ignition of a fire and the dry paint film is also mildew resistant. We can custom coat 2x3 up to 2x10 lumber.

CanoCLAD Stucco

Our acrylic stucco (CanoClad) is now licensed and manufactured by Superior Sprayed Systems (Triple S) in Edmonton, Alberta. Please contact them at 780-220-6034 for more information on this product.
