General information
Our mission is to develop literacy, foster imagination, and to connect children and parents to their communities by equipping them with the building blocks of life-long learning.
The Montreal Children's Library (MCL), a non-profit institution, has been providing free public library service for over 85 years.
Our library Polaris serves the unique needs of its community and enriches the lives of hundreds of children. We offer free library services to children and their families in an area of Montreal where no municipal libraries exist.
Our Parent-Child Mother Goose Rhyme Time program is a weekly gathering of parents and children who come together to learn and share the joys of nursery rhymes, songs and stories.
Library membership is free as are all our programs. We are the only bilingual (French/English) Library in Montreal.

Notre mission consiste à développer le savoir, encourager l'imagination et créer des liens entre les enfants, les parents et leurs communautés, en leur procurant les éléments de base pour les inspirer à apprendre tout au long de leur vie.
Notre bibliothèque Polaris sert les besoins spécifiques de la communauté dans laquelle elle est située et enrichit le quotidien de centaines de jeunes montréalais.
Notre programme Toi, moi et la mère l'Oie est une série de rencontres hebdomadaires durant lesquelles les parents et leurs tout-petits apprennent et partagent comptines, contes et plus.
L'abonnement à la bibliothèque est gratuit et donne accès à une importante collection de livres et de documents (audiocassettes, revues, etc.) ainsi qu'à plusieurs activités et services.
