Operating out of Ayr Ontario and Waterloo Ontario, I began my career with Sun Life Financial as an advisor after attending Wilfrid Laurier University and running two very successful family owned restaurants in Kitchener-Waterloo.

The thought of Financial Planning/Advising was admittedly not my first passion coming out of school. However, when the career was introduced to me I was reminded of my childhood and the struggles my mother had to endure raising two children after my father passed away unexpectedly in a car accident. My mother was left with debt, confusion and the challenges of raising two young children under 10 on her own. At the time of my father passing, he was 33 years old. My parents had no clue anything like this could ever happen to them as they were just starting out, two kids, a home with steady humble careers, they were young and happy and excited about life. Everything was coming together for my family, except one thing, they did not have a plan in place if something should happen to one or both of them. Without my father, my mother was down an income earner, down a partner and a spouse, and she inherited, funeral expenses, final taxes, a home she could not afford by herself, debt, child care costs and two kids to raise on her own. She was given $15,000 from the government of Canada as a survivors pension death benefit and my sister and I were given $10,000 each which we could access on our 18th birthdays to pay for school, which barely covered 1 years tuition. A total of $55,000 was all we received. Needless to say, we lost a lot more than my father on March 14th 1994, we lost our home and the life we were accustomed to. My mother, my sister and I received assistance for the next few years until my mother could get back on her feet. She saved and saved and saved every penny she could and used that $15,000 cheque to open a business, a restaurant, which is doing quite well still to this day.
Although our journey has more light in it now then we ever imagined, it didn’t come without a struggle, everyday. So, when I was approached about this career I decided quickly that if there was anything I could do about it, everyone should at least have the opportunity to hear how Insurance, Savings and working with a professional can change someone's life. My parents did not have someone working with them, they did not have a plan, they barely knew what Life Insurance was at 28 and 33. Can you imagine how different the first years after my fathers death might have been for my mother had someone called her about protecting themselves from the unexpected? Now, 6 years later, it is my passion and responsibility to educate my clients on how devastating it can be for a family if they don’t have the proper protection in place. Over my 6 year career with Sun Life, I have worked and lived across the country building my business and credibility. Along with being an advisor, I have been a manager, teaching advisors how to give sound financial advice and a regional manager, coaching managers to train advisors the right way. I have worked in, Ontario, Manitoba and most recently Vancouver. I have decided to continue growing my practice solely in Ontario moving forward, focusing my time on my community and my family.

I have a beautiful wife Stephanie, and 3 year old daughter, Mackenzie. We live in Ayr Ontario. I am an avid cyclist and a family man. I am most happy surrounded by family and friends.
