OUTtv is the world’s first and Canada’s only television network focusing exclusively on programming for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) audience and their allies. Since its launch in 2001, OUTtv has reinvented how gay and lesbian-focused programming is produced and presented. OUTtv has been successful by delivering a unique and dynamic mix of programs that appeal not only to its core audience, but that also reaches the upscale and trendy within the mainstream viewership. The channel has grown from just 20,000 subscribers in 2001 to more than 1.3 million in 2012, making it the most successful television network of its kind in the world.
It has been OUTtv’s mission since the beginning to create positive changes for LGBT communities by educating and celebrating all aspects of LGBT life through its programming. OUTtv is known for its diverse mix of edgy drama and fabulous lifestyle programing, as well as a dynamic library of hollywood and independent movies from around the globe.
