Hi, my name is Colleen Laing and I operate the Bayridge Counselling Centre in Hamilton. Welcome to my page!

I feel it is fundamental to respect you by sharing a bit about why I created an office in the Hamilton area. First of all I live closer to that area. I actually live in the Halimand Norfolk Region, and I love it! I love it as I am a country girl by heart, and I find the balance for me has to come from where I live for me to thrive in all parts of my life. I absolutely love simplicity and people. I love working hard, I love family, I love exercise, and I love eating good food with even better company. For me the common thread is about making real connections; for me it is about creating strong bonds to enjoy life more and yes, to provide warmth and comfort in midst of a stormy seasons in life.

I have had a heart to serve people for as long as I can remember. As a little girl I could see the goodness in difficult times, I had a drive to give to others, and just wanted everyone to be kind to each other. Perhaps this is because of my own personal journey where I too needed help along the way. Because of those difficult times, I have a heart to guide and give to others as I had needed; this hand I now stretch out to you! I went on a mission to handpick a team of people who have their own wonderful stories and who are tremendously gifted in helping others. I am excited to have found 15 amazing, kind, insightful, non-judgmental therapists who you can trust to share your struggles with, and most importantly, who can help you move through to the other side.

When we opened our doors back in April of 2012, it was with the dream of bringing exceptional client care and service to the Hamilton community. It was a beautiful day when we all sat in a room together to share what motivates each person on my team do what they do so wonderfully! There were smiles, there were tears, there were high fives and a lot of hugs! Above all there was a hunger in the room to be better, to give the best because each person could identify personally with why it is needed.

I want to take you into this room with us and share with you some of these reasons. Take the time to feel which one speaks the most to you, and there you will find a hand extended to you right now...

Our therapists cover a wide range of issues and have training and specialties in a vast array of therapeutic techniques that will help get you unstuck and ready to lead your most authentic life!

Our desire is to make you feel special, to have you feel valued and heard, and to have you be accepted for the individual you are and will become.
