About 40 years ago, in New Zealand, Gerard Roofing was invented. The son of a roofer, had been on holiday in England and discovered a roofing tile used there, which he wished to bring back home. He did and made it of Galvanized Steel. He then coated it with asphalt and these became popular with the Homeowners. As time went by he found that he could substitute Epoxy for Asphalt and then use different colour stones. This gave him a wider market, which took the roofing business by storm. He called it “Gerard Roof .” His market expanded to Australia as did his range of customers. In the early ’70’s, Gerard Roofing made its debut in the United States and Canada. Some changes have been made, Zincalume Steel is now used and Ceramic granules are used to enhance Beauty and Lifetime. Gerard is made to withstand the climates of North America and is North America’s number 1 Roof. Turning Houses into “Castles”!
